three free resources to get you started

With so many amazing resources to choose from, where do you begin?  These three are both fantastic and free and can easily get you started.

within:

The Metta Center for Nonviolence offers this free 12-week course to families who are looking to build their skills in nonviolence.  The lessons are accessible even for young children to get involved.  Aside from this resource, the Metta Center for Nonviolence offers a variety of affordable courses in nonviolence, as well as podcasts, articles, and science-based research on nonviolence for adults and children.

with others:

From their website, The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network "believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education."  GLSEN

organizes an array of lesson plans, programs to participate in, webinars, workshops, and more, which help create a safe learning environment for all students.  Check out their lesson plans, which are able to be sorted by topic, issue, and grade level!

with the world:

Global Guardians Project is an inspirational collection of "free online activities for kids and the entire family that teach how to care for the earth, endangered animals, and each other" (from their website).  Our family completed many of these lessons together... they were well organized, easily accessible, and a fun way to explore places we may never get to see in person.  Global Guardians Project also offers gorgeous prints for sale to inspire you and your family to change the world!

These resources are great additions to your classroom or homeschooling. A little step outside of the traditional curriculum leads to a world of valuable information that helps support children in their learning, provide safe and secure learning environments, and expand their knowledge of the world!
